Why don't we say ';Yo'; instead of ';Maybe';?

I mean, where the hell did ''maybe'' even come from, doesn't it make more sense to smash the two words together? Why don't we say ';Yo'; instead of ';Maybe';?
Yo is just for confusing people and greeting them in a ''cool'' manner. Why don't we say ';Yo'; instead of ';Maybe';?
Makes no sense to me. Yo,though I do not like the word is to get attention, much different usage than maybe. So I think things are fine the way they are.
Nah, I like saying maybe!

We could abolish using it in that context.

Why am I the only one who's lost
Let's just smash all of our words together. Wait, that should be: Lest smaall ofur worther.
I've never heard yo substituted for maybe. But word are what they are. And some words are more formal than others, and yo is definitely less formal than maybe. But if you ask that why not simply ask why isn't potato, cherry
Yo you're on to something.

I lol'd
because maybe begins with an m and m is the middle letter of the alphabet
It's shortened from 'That may be'

Makes a lot more since then YO

Ahhhhh thanks for clearing that up.
Why not say nes?
1:''Are you gonna go to school tomorrow ? ''2:''yo''
Nah I prefer the english language to be more complicated and hard to understand.

Or ''Nyo'' or ''Yno'' :
|Yo should never be substituted for maybe. They both mean completely different things.
That may be a bad idea, yo.
