Are normally offensive words used in an unoffensive way still offensive?

Such as the famed ''N'' word. Now everyone know that word was created to dehumanize african americans so the white slave owners would feel bad doing what they were doing to them. Sam deal with calling Germans Krauts in WW2, dehumanizing the enemy makes them easier to kill. However, if i were to say an offensive word such as the ''N'' word in a totally freindly and unoffensive way, and the person i'm speaking to knows that, is it still offensive.Basically what i'm getting to, is the word itself offensive? Or is the context/person the thing that is offensive? Are normally offensive words used in an unoffensive way still offensive?
The context, unless you're really sensetive. Are normally offensive words used in an unoffensive way still offensive?
With that word its best just to avoid. But, yeah, if used in an unoffensive way, it's probably okay. I don't know, I just avoid using that word just to be safe.

Well yeah me too, this is hypothetical and more ideological. You can substitute any term you wish for the example.
Again just like Chris Rock said...''It is not the word itself but the context in which it is ued in.'' The context is more important.
I feel the context is what makes words offensive.

George Carlin said it too, and i'm sure waaaay before Chris Rock ever did.
