I usually just look at the websites for local radio stations.Sites to find out what bands are playing in your area?
You could just look at the band's website/myspace for tour dates.Last.fm also has a really good search thingy to find out what's going on in/near your city.
last.fm definantly is the most useful music site on the web
Last.fm, or you could subscribe to your local scenes mailing list if they have one.
thing is I'm going on a roadtrip through some different states, so I want to see what all bands are playing there next week
Find out what venues are near you, for me its Chain Reaction in Anaheim
look at their (bands) website, myspace and i hear from radio station. my local radio station has this thing where u can get them (tickets) before u buy them and they say when the tickets are going on sale.
last.fm, ILike Ap on Facebook, Ticketmaster even haha



I actually am on a mailing list for concerts here in SoCal -- they send some excel file with concerts, where, who opens, if its new, etc. I have no idea who does it though.
