Is a genius born or a product of their environment?

i vote born. no one has come close to being as smart as EinsteinIs a genius born or a product of their environment?
It's a combination of both, although I'm guessing nature (i.e. how born) is overall very important. Is a genius born or a product of their environment?
Environment. Einstein had many obstacles to his ealry schooling, but found a way to perservere through it due in no small part to the way his parents encouraged him. It's that way with any genius, they don't just wake up one day and know everything, they put a great amount of effort into it and they have someextrodinary motivation pushing them through it.
Genetics determines the ''range'' an individual can attain in intellect and the environment tends to be the reason they end up the way they do.
Considering Mozart could already play, compose, and who knows what else by age 5, I'll say born. The environment only helps an average person stand out or go unnoticed, imo.
There is a strong correlation associating intelligence with heredity... it's the major factor, but environmental issues also have some effect (just not as strong as genetics).

I have to disagree. There are savants that are just born with talent. Whether its genius in terms of music, art, or science.

Find a genius and unquestionably refute environment in their developing talent.

Already competent on keyboard and violin, he composed from the age of five and performed before European royalty
I would say mostly inborn (i.e. genetic). You can certainly cultivate intelligence just as you can allow a seedling to reach its full potential by watering it, but you can't turn a bush into a tree.
Both. I feel they are both a part of being a real genius. If a person is mentally handicapped no matter how hard they work they will not be able to be a genius. And if and very intelligient person grows up in undesireable cinditions they can potentially turn to drugs/alcohol or crime and never have the opportunity to flourish. Thats whay I feel they both are neccessary to an extent.
