Remember that Simpsons Spinoff Showcase episode? Anyway there was one about Chief Wiggum and Principal Skinner as cops/detectives in New Orleans. I think that could be pretty good.
Wasn't there an episode where they gave some of the more minor characters their own mini-spinoffs?Cheif Wiggum is the one you want to go with.

that was based off another fox show, I forgot the name though.
The springfield police departement I always found those 3 guys to be very funny.
